Do I need to buy the Codex first?
No. The app subscription stands on its own. The Codex and Field Books are separate purchases and are not included in membership.
Does it work on my phone?
Open the Companion in your phone browser; no app-store download is required. Sign in with ChatGPT to reach your account. If a social app’s built-in browser interrupts sign-in, open the link in Safari or Chrome.
How does the free trial work?
New eligible accounts can try the Companion free for seven days with a payment method. Your subscription then renews at $7.99 USD/month unless canceled. Stripe shows your first charge date before you subscribe. Cancel before that time to avoid the first charge. One introductory trial is available per new eligible account; starting another checkout does not restart or extend it.
How does the founding rate work?
Join during the founding offer and keep $7.99/month for the life of your continuous Companion subscription, including improvements to this membership. If you cancel and later rejoin, you pay the then-current price and do not regain the founding guarantee. Access continues through your trial or paid period after cancellation. Future optional premium tiers, the Codex, and Field Books are separate.
How do I cancel?
Open Account & membership in the Companion and choose Manage billing or Cancel renewal. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid the first charge, or before your next renewal to avoid the next monthly charge. Access continues through your trial or paid period.
Can I explore before subscribing?
